The second metrologist we’d like to introduce to you is Ed Morrell. Ed is the VP of Engineering at our Lakewood facility. Ed was raised in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and now resides in Colorado. He completed his undergrad at Penn State in engineering science, and earned his graduate degree at UC Berkeley with a master’s in mechanical engineering. As a Coloradoan, Ed enjoys all that Colorado has to offer, from hiking to skiing.
Ed came to Mesa Labs when the BIOS line of portable gas flow calibrators was acquired 5 years ago. In total, Ed has been with Mesa for a combined 12 years! He manages 27 engineers at Mesa, and has seven patents.
For Ed, it has always interesting to work with customers and see their advanced technologies and processes. He had the unique experience utilizing Mesa flow meters used by a customer that manufactured gallium nitride semi-conductors (white LEDs). He was impressed by their high-end technology and science that backed their work and worked with this customer to meet their needs with measuring the various types of gasses.
Stay tuned for Volume 3 of “Meet the Metrologist!” to meet another one of Mesa’s expert metrologists!
